York Social Action Programme
In 1995 the Social Action Programme entered into a new phase. A partnership was formed between the City of York Council and York Salvation Army to deliver services to the local community. More recently this partnership has also included Supporting People who fund two out of the five existing programmes.
The programme grew at a rapid pace making it essential for the centre to have in place a Community Services Manager to oversee the operation of the social action programme, staff, contracts, budgets and the ongoing development of the work.
All the social action projects aim to provide a quality service to service users needing support and responding to gaps in service, identified for marginalised people.
