Church Services

You don't have to wear a funny uniform to attend the Salvation Army and you are sure of a warm welcome at Leeds West Hunslet.  All ages are represented at the main services (10.30 & 4.00), with worship ably assisted by the Junior and Senior Band and Choir.  Refreshments are served at the conclusion of the 10.30 Service.  The 4pm Service regularly takes the format of a Praise and Salvation Meeting with various groups or individuals organising a mini musical programme which then leads into the Evening Service.  The young people enjoy their own activity, 'Buzz Hour', at 3pm.

Community Programme

As the largest and most diverse provider of non-governemental welfare, The Salvation Army has a reputation for meeting the needs of the community whilst playing it's part as a mainstream Christian Church.  At LWH, the Lunch Club provides a place where people, who might otherwise spend the day at home alone, have the opportunity to meet together over a three course meal.  The Charity Shop helps generate income and meets the needs for affordable good quality clothing and bric-a-brac to the local community.
